I've registered domains through GoDaddy for years - and never had a single problem. Their support team has always been great to work with, too. But their hosting package is THE PITS.

...after changing to GoDaddy things were faster, but it wasn't much different.

A few years ago I would not recommend GoDaddy, but they've improved across the board and I can't think of anything wrong with them at the moment.

...the interface to ones account, email settings, hosting, and mySQL controls is horrible. the pages are so crowded with ads for GoDaddys extra cost services, that it is very hard to find the necessary little things to click to work

Nooooo....don't host on godaddy. Speaking from personal experience they are HORRIBLE....hours of downtime.

I have many sites hosted at GoDaddy, and have no problem with any of them.

As a part timer with intermediate experience, with several basic static sites
